Solar returns are a natal technique which can be used both for highlighting important annual themes, as well as identifying longer-term themes and patterns. This course will examine these planning tools, as well as the techniques that have developed to relocate the solar return - one of the few cases in astrology where patterns may be actively created by intentional travel.

Week 1: History & variations in solar return calculation
Learning Objectives:
Memorize the definition of a solar return, and understand historically the variations in the calculation of the solar return
Consider the method of solar return and what it can demonstrate in a reading compared to other dynamic methods

Week 2: The Classical solar return as one unit in the greater Planetary Synodic Sequence
Learning Objectives:
Compare and contrast the use of the solar return within the sequence: Jupiter-Saturn, Mars-Saturn, Mars-Jupiter, Solar Return, and Lunation
Compare and contrast the use of the solar return as a personal version of the use of the Aries Ingress in mundane

Week 3: Relocating the Solar Return
Learning Objectives:
Learn to compare the natal solar return with the possibility of relocation
Examine how to turn the solar return chart for optimal effect
Examine the house effect of moving north, south, east or west

Week 4: Solar Returns for Relationships, Job, and Success
Learning Objectives:
Examine the traditional rules for three common types of solar return subjects
Compare and contrast these methods in order to extract a general rubric for solar return examination

Week 5: Solar Returns for Failure, Sickness, and Death
