Although any of our courses can be taken as an individual course, our Certificate program is designed for students who want an in-depth examination of a particular topic area (beginning with the core essentials of natal astrology, then moving the chart in time, relationships, and more). Individual certificates contain three separate classes. Most certificates are comprised of three courses, generally taken over three 10-week terms (9 months). Courses include a website with supplemental reading materials, regular assignments and regular live web conferences where students practice their learning under the guidance of their instructor.
There are many elective courses available that can be taken on their own or to fulfill requirements for the Certificate Diploma. In addition, Kepler periodically offers one-time focus seminars or private workshops by noted astrologers.View items...
Primary instructors include Tamira McGillivray, Donna Young, Enid Newberg, Carol Tebbs, Jacqueline Menkes, Karen McCauley and Inga Thornell.
Guest lecturers include Susie Cox, LeeAnn Curtis, Claudia Dikinis, Robert Glasscock and more.
The three courses of the Fundamentals of Natal Astrology Certificate provide a solid grounding in the symbolism of Western natal astrology, how the symbolism has evolved over time, how to synthesize and apply that knowledge to delineate a natal chart, and an awareness of the ethical issues involved.
Through written material, lectures, assignments, online discussion forums and live classes, students will learn how to apply the symbolism and natal techniques of Western astrology to a coherent interpretation of the natal chart. They will also be knowledgeable about some of the controversies that surround different methods and when you may want to use one technique instead of another. Most importantly, students will have had constant practice in applying what they have learned so they can successfully synthesize these different methods in their interpretations.
Each class is 10 weeks long. All three classes are required for the Certificate Diploma.View items...
“As the art of prognosis, astrology utilizes planetary movements for predicting the quality, meaning, and duration of specific time periods. Rather than simply describing event-outcomes, however, planetary movements can be depicted as windows of opportunity for the actualization of natal potentials. Concrete events both reflect and serve as catalysts for changes in awareness; thus, planetary movements can provide insight into the precise timing of developmental processes, allowing us to appreciate how inner and outer reality coincide, reflect, and transform each other.”

There are many, many methods for moving the natal chart in time to interpret current patterns for a client; some of these techniques are standard “go to”, and many others are more specialized. Clients generally come to an astrologer with questions related to various life situations and the professional astrologer should have mastery of a broad range of interpretive skill to best show the possibilities at hand.View items...
Many of the fundamental principles of astrology are based on symmetry. Best known is the distribution of signs by element and quality, a scheme that is based on equal distances along the ecliptic and that produces perfect triangles and squares.
But there is more to the concept of Symmetrical Astrology than what we find in traditional techniques. In this way, Symmetrical Astrology can be distinguished from anything else that has come before it. It breaks from the past without losing the conceptual basis of astrological practice. It is a work in progress spanning close to 100 years.
While the core technique of Uranian Astrology is widely practiced all over the world, Alfred Witte, the principle designer, could only re-conceptualize what was available in his era and more discoveries in our field have been made since his time. His development of a language of astrology and other viewpoints were based on planes and the Greek concept of the horoscope as a point in time – very two-dimensional.
Arthur Blackwell introduced three-dimensional, very practical ways of looking at the heavens. His concepts combined with Witte’s core elements opens up an amazing amount of data and possible research possibilities. The following courses in symmetrical astrology take the symmetrical relations that already exist, plus the ideas as presented in Uranian astrology to develop a new and practical way of working with the chart.View items...
