Refunds and Cancellations

Digital Goods

If you purchase and download a digital file, for example a recording of a webinar, a workshop or an ebook, there are NO refunds. If you have a problem with a digital file that you have previously purchased and you have passed the download limit, contact This email address is being protected from spambots. Courses and Workshops

Please be certain that you want the course for which you have enrolled.

Unless specifically stated, refunds are available up to one week prior to course/workshop start. In courses and workshops that allow immediate access, because students have access to all course resources, there are NO REFUNDS.

Refund requests based on non-attendance or unawareness of refund procedures are NOT considered justifiable. For any refund that is granted, if the request is made after 60 days, a 3% fee will apply.

In the core essentials (W101, W102, W103, W110, and W111), if a student is unable to attend or complete a course in one term, they may transfer their tuition to the next term (for example, a student enrolls in the Spring, but is unable to complete the course. Upon request, their tuition may be transferred to Summer term). They must notify the instructor prior to the end of the first course in order to take advantage of this option.

Students who are unable to complete one-half or more of the course even after this second term, may re-enroll in a future offering of the same course at a 25% discount of the regular course tuition. Students who have successfully finished more than one-half of the required work, may pay on a per-week basis for completing the remaining work. Students considering this option must get agreement by the course instructor prior to the start of term.

For all courses other than those specified above, any extension is solely at the discretion of the instructor. Additional fees may be required.

After two years of inactivity on a course, any incomplete grade will be changed to no-credit/audit. For a course required for the diploma, students with a no-credit grade will be required to repay and retake the course.

 

Cancellation of a Course

Occasionally enrollment is not sufficient to offer a course which was scheduled to take place in a particular term or an instructor may have an emergency which prevents him or her from teaching a scheduled course.

If the course is cancelled, any money already paid by the student can be applied to their other courses in the current or following term. Students can also ask for a refund of such funds at any time after cancellation of the course.

Do you teach astrological techniques?

Yes.

Students get not only the techniques, but where they originated, how they may have changed over time, the philosophy behind them, what controversies may surround them, when they seem to work best (or not), and who uses them. If you know more than "just do this" you become not only a better astrologer, but are better able to evaluate any new method you encounter.

What does it cost?

Tuition

  • $40.00 one time registration fee for new students
  • $530.00 - 10 weeks, 4 unit course (regular certificate course)
  • $150.00 - 10 weeks, 1 unit course (Chart calculation courses)
  • $10-$50 for books and other materials

Upon request and approval by the instructor, some courses can be taken over two terms. However, payment must be received before starting the first term.

A unit reflects the amount of time involved.  

Expect to spend at least 2-3 hours working on the material per unit per week. 

Our certificate courses are designed as intensive study. Most students find they spent at least 8 hours per week working on the material (via readings, audio-video presentations, online discussion forums, assignments, live sessions, quizzes and tests)

As part of their tuition, students enrolled in a certificate course also receive:

  • Access to the MDM Electronic Library
  • Access to student resources
  • Access to the online conference service to create student study groups or focus groups
  • Recordings of the live meetings in their classes
  • Three additional months access to their courses after the term has ended to give them time to complete work or download lectures and presentations.


Please note that our instructors own the content of their courses (the COPYRIGHT). They have spent many hours preparing their materials, including written lectures, presentations, videos, and more. It is a violation of copyright and a lousy ethical decision to reuse these materials without the express written permission of the instructor.

 

Additional types of courses:

$10 to $25 Paid webinars/workshops (generally 2-4 hours in length)
$100 to $295 focus seminars and workshops. These are courses that meet in an online conference call and generally do not have additional homework and may not have a course site with additional materials.

Students in non-certificate courses will receive a link to download a copy of the recorded classes. They can also participate in online focus groups or study groups by paying $10 per quarter.

Students are entered into their course site no later than the night before classes begin. New students will also be enrolled in an orientation course.
