Email and Online Discussions

Because of its distance learning format, most communication between instructors, students and administration is through electronic mail or through the discussion forums on the website. The nature of email and discussion forums holds important implications for the principles of privacy, educational freedom and freedom of speech. It is therefore important that all members of the Kepler community be aware of basic protocol and some of the major pitfalls involved

Privacy Policy

Your privacy is critically important to us. At Kepler we have a few fundamental principles:

  • We don’t ask you for personal information unless we truly need it. (We can’t stand services that ask you for things like your gender or income level for no apparent reason.)
  • We don’t share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, develop our classes or services, or protect our rights.
  • We don’t store personal information on our servers unless required for the on-going operation of one of our services.
  • In our community, we aim to make it as simple as possible for you to control what’s visible to the public, seen by search engines, kept private, and permanently deleted.

Non-discrimination policy

Kepler College is committed to encouraging personal and intellectual growth in a democratic and cooperative setting and is committed to the principle of equal opportunity in education and employment. The college expressly prohibits discrimination against any person on the basis of culture, race, color, age, religion, gender, sexual orientation, geographical location, disability, religion, genetic information, veteran status, ancestry, national or ethnic origin, previous educational and/or work experience, and socio-economic background in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, employment policies, scholarship and loan programs, and other administered programs and activities.

Instructor Consultations with Students

Kepler recognizes that many instructors provide consulting services related to counseling or the provision of astrological services. For a number of reasons, it is considered inappropriate to do private consultations for current students, students who are completing coursework for previous terms or for students who are on a leave of absence. This policy applies regardless of whether or not a fee is paid.

If a student requests such a service, the instructor is expected to explain this policy to the student and deny their request. This policy is in place to:

Students are entered into their course site no later than the night before classes begin. New students will also be enrolled in an orientation course.

For you to gain access to your class, we must have:

  1. A completed Registration Form
  2. Payment made in full
